I need a moment. A moment to step away from reality. Step away from the role of being a wife, mother, business owner and friend. WALK AWAY.
I must remove myself from the cares of the world, and uncertainties of life’s gift of the unknown. It is in this moment that the bombardment of decisions and responsibilities must be placed on hold, so I can breathe and take time for me. BREATHE.
No I can’t respond to another email or return your call. I must stop right now and take a break. Take a break from criticism and the cluster of chaos. SAY NO.
No more questions can be answered at this time and unfortunately your reports will have to wait. I need time to refuel the emptiness caused by the ever growing demands and duties of being me. ME TIME.
In life, you will always have “one more thing” to complete. But you have to learn how to take time for you. At the end of the day, people and things can be like leeches and suck the very life out of you. You are of no value if your energy is a step away from exhaustion.
I challenge you to find that critical moment and make yourself a priority over that project you’ve been pondering on for quite some time. I encourage you to eagerly accept the fact that there will never be a perfect moment to put everything aside and invest in your peace of mind.
Come on, what are you waiting for? Treat yourself to a pedicure, go to the local coffee shop and write, read that novel that is now decorated with a layer of dust or enjoy a nice walk or a yoga class. No one can take care of you like you can and after all, if you don’t, you won’t be able to the best you can be. Go ahead, permit yourself to relax and refuel…everything else can wait.
